Negative Nancy

Here I am…again… saying that I’m sorry for not posting consistently. You see, having a small child takes up a lot of your time. I wasn’t sure if you all knew that or not. 🙂

Anyway, a lot has happened. Brent and I celebrated our third anniversary, but first one we’ve ever spent together, at The Breakers this weekend. IT. WAS. AMAZING. It was also my first night without Little Bit. It was nice, and weird, and we both passed out at 10:00. I probably could have been in a Motel 6 and had just as much fun. I just needed to sleep uninterrupted. 🙂

But that isn’t why I came here today. Something has been bothering me a lot lately and that something it negativity. I haven’t ever considered myself a negative person. Now, there are always things that I have a negative attitude about, I think that is just human nature. I like to surround myself with positive people because I don’t have the energy to be negative. Especially not with a baby on board.

There are a lot of nasty, “un-fun” things going on in the world. I, personally, choose to know nothing about them. I don’t watch the news, I don’t read anything on the internet. Well, I read Facebook and Twitter and blogs, but nothing substantial. I don’t think that you shouldn’t know what is going on, I just choose not to. It makes my life a lot easier and less stress-free.

I’m not only talking about the negativity that there is in politics, economy, etc., I’m also talking about the negativity that rises in everyday life. Why waste your time and energy being in a bad mood? That doesn’t change anything and it just ruins your whole day. If you can’t do anything about your situation, then just get over it and move on. Being positive will make your life better. It’s a fact. I read it in “Lindsey’s Book of Facts”.

Being positive rubs off on people the same way negativity does. I’m not naive, I just choose to not dwell on things that I can’t change.

Actually, I should say- I TRY to not dwell on things I can’t change. I think we all struggle to be positive all the time. In fact, it’s pretty annoying when someone is positive all the time. 🙂

So, that was a lot of rambles, but I really just want to say- deal with the cards you’ve been handed. You hate your job? Well at least you have one. Not many people do. The economy sucks? Well at least you have enough money to have an internet connection to read this blog. Your waiter is taking forever? Well now you get more time with your family and friends.

I think you get the point. 🙂
